The head of public access television in nearby North Andover has been chosen as the new executive director of the Lowell Telecommunications Corp., it was announced yesterday.

An Eagle Court of Honor was held recently at Calvary Baptist Church for Michael Cruz, a member of Boy Scouts Troop 26 in Lowell.

UMass Lowell officials, with the help of university donors, have created a $25,000 scholarship endowment fund in honor of Richard Barrett, the school's former financial-aid director.
